Thanks for the info. I'd be worried about the airlines because who knows what a shake-up will do there. Might become a similar situation to AMTRAK. Also interesting to see the future of Houston energy companies to see those that are able to diversify versus those unable to.
Also think DR Horton's (and other home builders) are going to have an interesting future as people begin to seek less dense areas since they aren't going to the office as much. This comes at the same time a lot of boomers are starting to leave their homes for whatever reason (retirement, death) and people aren't having as many kids. So are we going to need as many new neighborhoods or even complete rebuilds since homes will start to open?

You're just talking about revenue. DFW's top two companies had over $200B each, with AT&T just under that in the third spot. The first two especially is the sole reason for the gap.

3 more notes for Houston. OXY acquired Anarko (which was a F500 last year), combining two of the F500s. NRG has a dual headquarters (similar to what Amazon is tryfing to do) which is consolidated in New Jersey but most headquarters operations are in Houston. And third, Fertitta Ent was entering F500 territory. Being a private company, they aren't forced to collaborate with Forbes, but their revenue was nearing 4B, and later acquired Del Frisco's, Palms and Houlihan's getting them close. Of course, with the hospitality recession, it may not get there next year.

American, Delta, United, and Southwest are, for sure, not going anywhere. They will return to profitability over time. The comparison to Amtrak is not valid.
