Zero deaths in Corpus Christi. Even the idiots who decided they wanted to ride it out on a boat tied up in a marina that just got tax repossessed lived. Coast Guard had to get them when the docks disintegrated. Lots of piers gone including the big county one on the Gulf.

The hurricane squeezed into a low population area between Corpus Christi and Brownsville. If it's going to hit, that's where you want it.

Looks like the King Ranch was the only thing that got a direct hit.

I guess some people didn't notice or the media did not cover it?

It would not have been a problem if it was just the King Ranch.

The "eye" went right over the RGV and took it's sweet time doing it dumping up to 15 inches in some spots. I got 12 inches and 60+ mph winds in Mcallen and it took about 12 hours to pass. Disaster declaration and severe flooding is what happened.

Severe flooding left in hurricane’s wake as Abbott mobilizes FEMA.
