Hi y'all.I am looking at getting married in the next few years.I am moving to Bulverde in 2 or 3 years.I think i will move to San Marcos or Waco afterwards.I am church of Christ and I am hoping to marry someone who is also church of Christ.

I know Texas State has more students than Baylor but Texas State is a party school last i heard and Baylor is Christian university.I live in Midland.Do y'all think San Marcos or Waco would suit my needs better???

Waco is far more religious and socially conservative. San Marcos is a party college town. San Marcos and the surrounding areas (Atx, Nb, hill country in general) are largely a mix of hippies, retirees, leftists, and libertarians, so I don't think it would suit your needs very well. Don't get me wrong, Baylor is a huge party school, but Waco also seems to be very socially conservative and religious. And fwiw I do know some people that are very religious and went to Baylor and didn't really party much. Every single person I know that went to texas state (which is a lot, since I live in San Antonio) is a huge partier, except for two, and they are huge stoners.

Waco has a much greater sense of local community and the local churches play a big part of that. Partly because it is farther from other cities and more of a regional center on its own right.

San Marcos is more of a commuter-town for San Antonio and Austin and doesn't have nearly the same sense of local community that Waco has.

If you are looking for community then Waco would be the better choice. It is also larger and has more going on than just Baylor. While San Marcos is pretty much just Texas State and some suburbs and outlet malls.

Let’s just be sure OP is conservative first. Just because someone goes to church and wants to marry someone in the church automatically makes them conservative.

Have you been to these places before OP? Are you in Bulverde now? What attracts you to these cities?

From what I can recall he is. I think he's looking for a pretty conservative place although he seems hesitant on where to move. Which is understandable. Me too.

And I agree with what texasdriver said

Yes i am a conservative libertarian Republican, ashbeeigh.I have been to those places.I am not in Bulverde now....I am actually in Midland here on the Llano Estacado.Im moving to Bulverde because my folks are moving there and buying property there.I am attracted to San Marcos because its close to Bulverde and it has Texas State.I am attracted to Waco because its relatively close to where my parents will be living and it has Baylor.

Waco only looks close to Bulverde on a map. Austin sits between them.
