Also, Canadians tend to base a lot of their identity on not being American, just like how Oklahomans base their identity on not being Texan.

“Otherwise, the culture, accents, food, architecture, urban layout, and even vegetation and terrain, was similar.”

Outside of terrain and vegetation, and maybe architecture, I don’t see this. I think the cultures, accents, and food are different. They both have bbq in common. That’s about it. Like I said years ago, okc is much like Fort Worth than it’s like Dallas.

I guess you're right about OKC being more like Fort Worth than Dallas. But Oklahoma vs Texas as a whole, I still maintain that Oklahoma is the Texas of Canada.

What is a Bush League? | Glossary | MLB.com

Bush League
Definition
"Bush league" describes something that is below professional standards.

Origin
With "bush" being a synonym for a rural area, non-Major League clubs in small towns were referred to as bush league teams in the early days of baseball. The term has come to be used often outside of baseball.

I think most Texans just don't think of Oklahomans at all.

...just like most Americans don't give Canadians a second thought either unless they live up North.

I'm reminded of that song by Rush called The Trees that talked about "the maples" and "the oaks."

Because of the oil industry, many folks in Houston have Oklahoma ties. That may be more true here than elsewhere in the state. My parents moved here from Tulsa. ConocoPhillips was at one point running regular charter air service to and from Bartlesville (and may still be).
