Travis Scott is almost 30, I'm sure there are plenty of forum members around that age. I'm the same age as Post Malone.

Travis Scott's audience is of the same age of Post Malone and probably younger actually. People aren't comparing their age. They're comparing the fans ages.

So, I'm not saying the Rodeo is the most "Houston" event. But you're exaggerating. The Rodeo does a good job of embracing Houston culture in many ways. The Houston Rodeo is a lot more than just horses and country singers. That's part of it, but that's mostly just for show, tourists, and the people competing. You see Houston cuisine and Houston style BBQ among the stands. It's where modern Houston culture meets old Texan culture.

They're almost too similar in concept...

They're also not apart in attendance. Astroworld is slightly bigger with 50K compared to Posty's 40K. I vote Astroworld though, just for the better lineups.

Astroworld Fest

Posty Fest
I prefer Posty Fest.

Yep, I woke up this morning to news that there was a panic and stampede at Astroworld Fest and that numerous people were killed last night.

What a tragedy. So glad I wasn't there.

Reminds me of the mindless soccer mob stampedes overseas.
People need to chill like the ACL and SXSW crowds.

ACL can get wild. After my second year I decided not to try to get the best spot. I told my neighbors that the Travis Scott fans were already pushing forward during Janelle Monae (a mid afternoon show) when he was in town. Hearing it happened here just makes me go, “yep…” not that it isn’t tragic.

I have read that Scott has a history of encouraging fans to rush the stage. Looks like he incited the same last night and even kept playing as people were getting trampled to death in front of him.
That isn’t right, no matter what kind of talent one may possess.
Saw the same mob mentality with the Elvis fans 65 years ago, although those teen girls seemed to be intent on throwing their underwear at him.

This immediately made me think of The Who concert in Cincinnati. I was really young then so I think I remember it mostly from “WKRP In Cincinnati” reruns. I have to say, I’ve been in a few crowded, claustrophobic situations and I’ve chosen to leave, probably because as a child the idea of being trampled was already cemented in my mind. So very tragic, particularly the 9th grader who died.
