I'm thinking you are correct. The OP began the thread with several unsupported and likely unsupportable claims and it has fishtailed from there.

If you all are talking about TCR someone needs to source all these claims.

I wasn't saying anything definitive about the current project, just suggesting it may be due to the same issues that plagued some previous projects. I could source those issues for previous projects but it still wouldn't prove anything about the current project.

That's kind of my point. So far as I can tell TCR is fine. But the OP's post, and he does this a lot, is full of conjecture and guesswork presented as fact.

Maybe we are talking about two different things.... here is an article talking about why it is on hold...

There are many more, just search.

That's a year old. Since then TCR has received at least one federal permit. I can't find anything current that backs up the claims of impending doom.

The only country that has managed to politicize mask wearing!?! Apparently it's a deplorable's constitutional right to spread COVID unsolicited. Now some of the nuttier Christianofascists are saying that the vaccines are the "Mark of the Beast".

Hyperloop would kill the Airlines. Any idea why the Texas map on the site does NOT have the obvious (money maker) Dallas-Houston Link? Is that to avoid the fight with the Dinosaurs still working on HSR?
The ultimate example of Corporate Socialism! Get together a bunch of lobbyists, contribute to politicians or getting your puppets elected, and then demand monopolies or tax breaks in return.

Hyperloop killing the airlines? There are other profitable flights outside of Texas. The airport won't be passed over for the train station unless somehow trains can cross seas.

Overseas / OCONUS is the only long-term safe market for the Airlines (or overnight Air Freight). But if you look at the US Flights, around 90% of them are CONUS. Just US to US. All that market is at risk. The US goes way beyond Texas. A tube can go to New York or California faster than a jet. The tubes are faster, cheaper, cleaner and safer. Any weather, anytime. Probably be some private market or corporate jets that survive, but the daily-go-to-work airlines . . . looks like trouble.

Folks that own and operate the tubes have a real Gold Mine before them. Folks can just show up and go. Shared pod for a budget. Private pods for premium customers. Will probably even wind up with a market for custom, corporate, or private-owned pods.

So exactly how would literally tunneling underground to every major city in the US be cheaper and safer than airlines?
