I applaud them. My representative walked out and she’ll get my vote again.

Funny though when democrats do this kind of thing it's a stand and principle and wholly righteous. When republicans do the same in the future they will be progress thwarting monsters who must be stopped.

It’s both ways. Just depends on your perspective. I’m glad they did this. I’ve been unhappy when Republicans have done the same but that doesn’t make one group worse than the other. It’s just based on what you want. I don’t view Republicans who do the same is bad people or thwarting anything, I just have different values.

Understood. I was more talking about media portrayals.

Whereas I can recall Democrats walking out more than once, I cannot recall Republicans ever walking out. Maybe they did. When did Republicans walk out, and for what?

Not in Texas but it does happen.

I dont look at them any different than their Texas Democrat counterparts.

Anyone remember the 'Killer Bees'? I was in high school, and recall that one. They not only walked out, they hid because I think they were ordered back. I think the Texas Rangers were tasked with finding them.

Yeah I remember that. It was a setup from the start, too. The majority party sets the legislative calendar, and Republicans put Tom DeLay's moronic redistricting above healthcare and education funding that year to force the Dems to either allow it to pass or break quorum and pillory them for "not caring" about healthcare and education. You may not like what the Democrats did, but Republicans attempting to make them look bad by intentionally giving redistricting a higher priority was equally sleazy.

Somebody explain to me why Governor Abbott and Texas Republicans want to eliminate drive thru voting.
What's wrong with that?
