This question is really for any states but I want to use this example for Texas.

It doesn't make any sense thus, may I ask why some counties have more than 100% of "Races in _____ County, State"?

Here is the example below that I took a screen shot......

Thanx.

Hispanics can't make up their mind if they are white or black?

Probably misleading questions somewhere led to that result. Hispanic is considered white, as well, so it is possible that whatever place they mined the data from did not include the 'non-hispanic' addition to the 'white' field.

Hispanic / Latino is an "ethnicity" not a "race." Hispanics / Latinos can classify themselves as White, Black, Native American, etc. For example, many Mexican-Americans whose heritage goes back to northern Mexico might classify themselves as "White", while for many from southern Mexico or immigrants from Central America, "Native American" would probably be more appropriate (though who knows what they actually choose). Many from the D.R. might choose "Black".

So, unless the counts for White, Black, etc. also say "non-Hispanic / Latino", then you should be careful about counting the Hispanic / Latino share toward the 100% total.

It does say White, Non-Hispanic but from the data it seems pretty obvious the White numbers include Hispanic people hence the data might be accurate but the classification off.
