Cool real estate agents stopped using the term “master bedroom” over ten years ago. I personally don’t care but the examples others have listed have different meanings. The “master” of a home means something different than a “masters degree”. “Master” has a few definitions, but everyone on here knows that and just decided to dumb down the conversation for a laugh. As for “master cylinder”. it goes hand-in-hand with “slave cylinder”. I don’t know the entomology of those terms but they could probably use a makeover
