I believe the red wave was a term that was used to mean how all over the country seats would flip. Congress, senate, and even governor seats.

Seems like from that prospective there really wasn’t any sort of red wave. Especially if Arizona and Georgia senate races go blue.

Agreed just making a observation of our local politics. We blew it nationally and Trump and his candidates have alot of responsibility for it too. Trump time is over.

I see that Abbott won by 11%? That is pretty nuts, more than most of the people on this board expected him to win by!

How much of Abbott's win is due to Texas being red, and how much of it is due to Texas's Democratic Party being incompetent? I know the latter part of that sentence may seem harsh, but I can't think of any other word for it. When you run a candidate THREE times after they've already lost twice, and who thinks "Hell yes, we're coming to take your AR-15s" in TEXAS is a good idea, and you don't have anyone better than that to get behind, I'd say your party is pretty incompetent.

The alternative is Beto. Mr. "I'm gonna run for Governor in Texas of all states on a gun control platform".

The alternative is also part of a party that wants to shut down all oil and gas in this country and wants to raise taxes to extortionate levels. Oil and gas is a major contributor to Texas's economy.

It's not JUST that Texas is a red state. The Texas Democratic Party is run by incompetent, out of touch people.

I don't think that's exclusive to the Texas democratic party.

I don’t care if you don’t like country or tejano, you can like whatever you like. This isn’t really a political issue but I wish the music in this country was more regional and not dictated to us by whatever New York City wants us to listen to. I think people that are on all “musical spectrums” would generally agree with this.
You know the south is a greater welfare burden than other regions?

As is the RNC and the GOP leadership in DC. Bunch of wimps.
