We Always travel with a couple of blankets in the car, plus a roll of tp, flashlights, water, and a reserve battery charger.

Two things can be true. 1. The power outages were not due to any failings from the Grid. 2. Abbott did not fix anything (or didn’t fix much) and the grid was fortunately able to withstand this relatively mild winter storm.

Y'all. It got cold. We got some ice and snow, like we always do at some point in the winter. It's supposed to warm up this weekend. We're going to be fine!

Typical Texas winter weather. My "memories" feed for February is full of freezing temperatures in February over the years. Many much colder than this one.

Sorry this wasn't all that exciting, but at least most people have enough toilet paper, milk, and bread.

LOL I went to Canton. It wasn't super busy, which was surprising to me. The roads weren't too busy either. But maybe Canton Trades Days aren't that busy in February, who knows because I don't normally go at this time of year and probably wouldn't have if I didn't have a touch of cabin fever by now. Anyway, I ate fair food and bought some soap and some fudge and some decorative pillows that I don't need so I contributed to the economy!

Well, it's worth going but about once a year at the most - maybe even once every few years. I live about 30 miles from it and only venture there once every few years generally. It's got some interesting items for sale but many of those are OUTSIDE so the best months to go are probably April through June and maybe October through December.

Wear really comfortable shoes.

My brother used to sell at Canton about 10 or 12 years ago. That place was unbelievably huge then.

I'd need a scooter to go back these days. But I would like to.

But returning to the topic, Friday evening our temp here near Lubbock went down to zero and I had a pipe break in the rear bath when the pellet stove at the rear of the house accidentally went out.
