My husband will be transfering to an office in Farmers Branch.
We are looking for a great neighbourhood for our family of which is mixed preferlably 10 or 15 miles within Farmers Branch. A community that is family oriented. We have three children (3.5 yrs 2.3yrs and 7 months). So we will be looking for a good Pre-k soon.

Any infor is wellcome since we live in a big city (Bangkok, Thailand) moving to a smaller city.

there are many areas within 10-15 miles of Farmer's Branch--you don't indicate what price point you are comfortable with--some areas are more expensive than others

and Farmer's Branch is more of a Dallas board thread since it is not in Tarrant county so people there might have more input about schools/family life in towns east of DFW

You might conside Coppell, Grapevine, (Southlake is 19 miles), Lewisville, Flower Mound (western part is probably more than 15 mi away),
Carrollton is within the mileage but school district might be more iffy as is Las Colinas/Irving area

I lived in Coppell and then moved to Farmers Branch/Carrollton. I miss Coppell soooo much. I think that area is much cleaner, and the Coppell School District is hands-down better than FB/Carrollton. My friend worked as a teacher for both and is now happy in Mockingbird Elementary in Coppell. She says the quality of kids/families there is a night and day difference.
