Because Republicans are pro-privatization
Best example of that is all the toll roads in Texas
Cut government funding (taxes) = no money to build roads
And then Republicans give us a great solution = privatize, because they defunded the public option

That’s exactly why we have so many toll roads in Texas.

Regardless of whatever economic benefits in the 1950s you can claim were from the New Deal, the feds had no business doing it. Get the feds out of the housing market. We're supposed to be a civilized country, not some 3rd world joint that throws subsidies around to win votes.

And furthermore, the feds embedded racism and other ills in their programs while doing it.

The 1950s also sucked. We broached 25% poverty later in the decade.

Further, the '50s were flanked by two recessions and included two more recessions.

I think the other guy is trying to bluff his way to a win.

Not that I agree with the post you were responding to, but this doesn’t prove otherwise.

I for one am sick and tired of the far left and the far right dominating the Democrat and Republican parties. I think both sides are ridiculous. I'm a fair minded, free thinking middle of the road independent. I think the moderate Democrats and the moderate Republicans need to join forces and form an Independent political party in order to keep the lunatic extremes from having control of the government.

False. Being the only intact country coming out of WWII did. We became wealthy despite the statist hijacking of government, not because of it.
