Hi! I'm wondering if there is such a thing in Texas as a relatively flat, paved bike trail that just goes on for miles without having to cross roads or use roads that cars would be on??? Something that would attract walkers, bikers, baby strollers, roller bladers, etc.

Anywhere in Texas, city or country?

Thanks!

Kountze Hike & Bike Trail is the only one paved but there are plans for an extension of it's 7 mile length.

Trinity Trails in Fort Worth. https://trinitytrailsfw.com/ There are more than 100 miles of trails. Some of the spots do cross roads but there are long flat stretches that don't. There's all sorts of things along the trails including parks, a live concert stage next to the river, a drive in movie theater with a beer garden, a bike shop, a brewery with a tap room, the zoo, a historic village, shops, a grocery store, yoga and exercise studios, a drop-in art studio, restaurants, and a Saturday farmers market. You can also bike to places where you can rent kayaks to kayak down the Trinity. One of the Southern trailheads is close to a lake and a YMCA. The apartments along the trails are very popular because the trails offer so many things to do.

Fort Worth is a great place to live if you love to bike. Our previous mayor even hosted weekly bike rides and would answer your questions while you rode together.

Most cities/towns do. Some even have dirt trails designed for biking

Houston has a few that run along the Buffalo Bayou and elsewhere. Most of the master planned suburbs have those too. It's good they're there as riding the bike on the road is definitely not for the faint of heart.

Most bike trails have to cross roads at some point.

But yes, please stay off the roads, especially if you don't wear a helmet.
