Furthermore, it's apparently constitutional. Which allows the parties to do it "guilt-free."

Nothing to be curious about if you read the comment and what's it in relation to. It's probably one of the most foolish comments I've ever read to think a state with nearly 80% of it's district run by Democrats is that way due to Gerrymandering. People aren't apathetic in California because of gerrymandering. Their apathetic because everyone pretty much thinks alike in regards to their voting (why vote when the people going to the polls are going to get it covered for you by voting exactly the same way you would).

With that said, it's so far off base from the original comment (and there seems to be more deflection with each ensuring post) that it's not worth the time.

I don’t see any congressional district in California that looks anywhere close to Texas 33rd district

California actually doesn’t gerrymander. Their districts are drawn by a non partisan commission. If you had researched properly, you would have mentioned Maryland or Illinois which are two blue states that gerrymander as bad as Texas.

LOL you actually believe there is no gerrymandering going on in Calif? How in the heck do you think the democrats control both houses and decades?

[Mod cut: orphaned]

And that means what? How long have you had a businesses? How many employees do you have on your payroll? How much do pay in taxes, fees, workers comp, vacation pay, holiday pay and sick pay?

Dont give me your wise ass comment about macro / micro economics - i have lived it for 20 years and know what it takes to run a business, keep it profitable and deal with all the issues that comes with it.

Because California is a liberal state. Surely you should be able to figure that out.

Here is a fun exercise. Have a look at the congressional districts in California:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Califo...h_Congress.tif

Now look at the ones from Texas:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Pagecgd113_tx.pdf

Now for some education to you. California's districts are drawn by a commission of 5 democrats, 5 Republicans, and 4 from neither party:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Califo...ing_Commission

In Texas they are drawn solely by the ruling party.

So yeah, there ACTUALLY isnt gerrymandering in California. The fact that youre uneducated about it doesnt make your opinions true. If a person wanted to make a show of Democratic gerrymandering, there are options. Illinois and Maryland as I mentioned. But they had to choose the one state where it actually isnt a thing. All because the disdain for California is so strong that you simply attach the things you hate to it. All it did was prove how little you actually know about it.

There is PLENTY to criticize about the California state government just as there is for Texas. You happened to pick one of the few issues where there ISNT a comparison.
