I am a 24 year old single, male, registered nurse looking at relocating to either San Antonio or Lubbock. I have family in both cities which is why I am undecided between the two. Looking for which city has the better economy, cost of living and which will have career opportunities for me and which will be more sustainable in the coming years as I know this state is booming and quickly becoming overpopulated. I like Lubbock for its low humidity, not as much traffic and being able to get around town within 15 minutes. I like San Antonio for its big city amenities, close to other major Texas cities and the rivers and coast. If there are any other cities that could be honorably mentioned, that would be welcome as well!

My vote would be SA for all that you mentioned. Plus its diverse and has a lot of history. Lubbock has Buddy Holly and sand storms though. But in the end, where would you be happiest at work and outside of work - like hobbies, activities you enjoy, etc and which city/town offers that to you? That info would also help you decide.

San Antonio. There are many good hospitals in the area, and it is a much larger city with more amenities. Lubbock is much smaller, and has fewer hospitals, and also less things to do.

You're going to have to decide what you value. The two cities are not really comparable.

San Antonio is much bigger so it has a better economy and more opportunities. You will be limited in Lubbock but I would guess the cost of living is lower and it will not become a big city ala Houston or Dallas for a very very long time (maybe ever). If you like living in a smaller city I would suggest Lubbock. However you could also move to a suburb outside of San Antonio to get away from the big city vibe.

Where are you from? How do you like it?
