Does it show up as 'PUC' under your bill or just hidden as an accumulation of 'Government and Taxes' fees?

I don't have anything that shows as 'PUC' on my bill. I pay $1.49 for Government and Taxes though.

Edit:

Or is it this? (the bolded)

Quote:
Included fees & charges
State Universal Service Fund $0.52

Included Government taxes & fees
State & Local Sales Tax $0.23
State Surcharge $0.12
State 911 $1.00

I’ll look it up later,
But right now is $0.12/per person, likely it will go up to $1.00/person

Sure, just a dollar … now assume that 50% of Harris county uses cell phone
That $1.00/person now is 3 million dollars per month.

Nothing new here. They are also highly dependent on urban and suburban hospitals.

Everything else has gone up price wise - this was simply a matter of time from what I can tell.

Sounds like a nothing burger to me. I can't imagine getting worked up over such a small amount, but to each their own.

I can understand why you’re irritated. At the same time though technically everything is subsidized in some form or another. Hospitals, Fire Departments, Police, Jails, Roads, Transit, Businesses, Oil Production.. ..The intent of taxes wasn’t necessarily to be fair, but to keep an equilibrium in society. If you increase police funding, the very same conservatives who will retaliate against Police defundings will also be up in arms when more money comes out of their wallet. Same thing with liberals. They opt for programs and taxes to save society which eventually accumulate and price them out of living in their home while the problems they intend to fix remain at large. There’s just no perfect win all system unless everyone paid for what they used… but that would entail a heavily corporatized infrastructure with all kinds of loop holes in law.

What's hilarious is getting worked up over an extra buck in charges. Reminds me of a guy that would get flipped off by someone driving past him at 55 mph and try to chase the car on foot.
