Hi,

I have a question regarding Texas driver's licenses.

I understand I have to provide my residential address to the state. Can someone please clarify whether the residential address must be printed on my driver's license? Or can a mailing address be printed on the license? My question is specifically about the address printed on my license, not whether I must provide a residential address to the state.

Thanks!

I don't think you can use a PO Box on a Driver's License since that address is also used for voter registration.

Yes you have to request it and provide the reason why. DPS will evaluate and either approve or disapprove.

Texas Law does give this exception for using your address:

An individual is not required to comply with this section if the applicant is subject to the address confidentiality program administered by the Office of the Attorney General,

Contact the AG's office to find out how you can apply.
