I don't hate him like the left wing media, but I think we need someone else in office. Assuming he wins against Beto, he will be the governor for over 10 years. That's a really long time for one person to have control over a state.

I would have preferred the two guys who ran against him in the primary but since Abbott won the primary I hope he wins. It would be great if we had more choices but america is sadly a 2 party state.

I have mixed feelings over Abbott and cannot tell if he truly stands by what he preaches or if he is pandering for votes. Right now things are extreme on both sides however. I personally do not approve of letting 18 yo's have powerful weapons, but I understand what Abbott's intent was behind it the relaxing of gun laws. Abbott protects my personal freedoms, protections and rights alot more than Beto will and for that reason, I prefer him over Beto. I do believe there is truth that ERCOT is a for profit system disguised to look as though its intended to help the consumer. There are obvious gaping holes in the system that neither Abbott or Beto will fix however.

Between everyone that is running, I will prefer Abbott.. ..if there were a better contender though, I would probably choose him over Abbott.

One thing I will add is that Abbott was always seen as a moderate/establishment republican by most republicans and the more right wing republicans never seemed to support him until he followed Desantis’ queue by relaxing covid restrictions. Seems like he has gone more far right since desantis did. Hard to know what he really stands for.

I can't tell either but my personal opinion stems to believe that he polarized because both parties have radical agenda's and neither party can compromise if they want to get what they desire. Brian Kemp stood down on overturning the election results and was heavily condemned by the Republican Party for doing so.

I didn’t vote for him in the primary, but I will vote for him now. Anything is better than Beto.

Don't like him. Definitely voting for Beto, but I don't hate the guy. He isn't full scum like Patrick and Paxton.
