From the same source (Bureau of Labor Statistics): Casino workers are broken out into several categories, also as of 2019:

Cashiers: Avg salary: $28,010
Dealers: Avg salary: $23,980
Surveillance Officers: $29,710
Supervisors and Managers (from a different source, PayScale): $52,807

dealers make more than that, thats 23,980 is not a living wage

Yeah that alone did away with all the credibility of that source. Only way I see a dealer making that is a if they’re a part time employee at some small remote location

I guess I wanting it for more pragmatic reasons like getting more taxes and keeping some of that money from going to Oklahoma LA and New Mexico and Vegas.I doubt they will be legalized anytime soon in Texas. It seems like the Texas GOP is too against the sin industry for that to occur.Maybe in the future...

So funny to read arguments made by Conservatives on this (ironically they are the same arguments made by Liberals). And it's always about what to do with other people's money as though we must go down that rabbit hole. Lord forbid a business shouldn't be allowed to open up because people want the 'freedom' to have services they want (and services that are already used in states right next door and on line with off shore sites).

Admittedly the religious right has been in the 19th century with some these prudish, holier than thou viewpoints for quite some time. Right up there with their rules on alcohol purchases on a Sunday, and legalization of marijuana.

The religious right has moral standards that we live by including the use of alcohol, drugs, gays and abortions. Its called faith and you may not agree with it but millions do and just because we wont bend to your views does not make us prudish. We could make a strong argument that its you who wants to change our beliefs and faith and push your rules and morals on us.

I suggest that instead of calling millions of people names you use your voice to influence others to vote your way. But calling others names only hardens our views and makes you look weak.

Yawn. What a load of hogwash, but convenient to deflect from the obvious hypocrisy. It's called being irrational (as is your ridiculous response...notice people are more concerned about the money and how to tax it as opposed to whether or not it's some sin). Thére really is little difference between political parties. Both sides make up spin like this to justify their close minded viewpoints that they apply when it's works for their cause (and their obvious contradictions are rich). So much for 'freedom' and 'unfettered capitalism'.

From my experience, I've noticed many so called 'practicing Christians' act like saints on Sunday but don't exactly practice the "Golden Rule" the rest of the week

The problem with the so called religious people in Texas is they are trying to force everyone else to live to their standards. They claim that allowing same sex marriage is an affront to their values, but not once have I heard of anyone being forced to get same sex married, nor are churches forced to officiate same sex ceremonies. Nor have I heard of anyone being forced to get an abortion or to use drugs or to gamble.
