Not even worth a reply. You're really showing your colors, TexasRed, and pissing me off.

Not a single TexMex dish = no understanding of Texas.

Well, your tone and attitude is what is not really worthy of a reply. But be as it may, then be and stay pissed off, far as I am concerned. I couldn't frankly care less.

If you had taken the time to search the original polls, before this FINAL one, you would have seen Tex-Mex on it. It didn't make the top two. It came in third. Not my fault you either didn't see it, didn't vote or that your choice didn't make it. Granted, these are not "scientific" polls, but rather, designed to have fun with. And to take it as any more than that is ridiculous.

Originally, they started with seperate polls for each catagory. The top ones in each made it to the first run-off poll. Originally, seperate Tex-Mex dishes were listed, but later on, it was consolidated into a general grouping of Tex-Mex. This FINAL poll represents the top two in each catagory in terms of garnered votes. Again, Tex-Mex came in third, so didn't make the final cut. (I happen to love Tex-Mex, believe it represents Texas well, and by the way, and came close to voting for it).

Not that I have to explain nor justify a single thing to you, but I am still going to post two links to the originals so you can see for yourself how wrong you are:

//www.city-data.com/forum/texas...ish-texas.html

//www.city-data.com/forum/texas...-off-poll.html

Note the Tex-Mex listings and ranks.

Finally, I don't care to waste time in exchanges with disgruntled individuals who draw conclusions based on coming in at the very end of a conversation. But I will definitely reply when attacked. I strongly suggest we keep it civil.

And you are always free to start your own poll...

Default Wish I could sing like George Jones...

Hmmmm...in looking at the votes as of Sunday afternoon, I got to thinking, sure wish I could write a song like Willie Nelson, and sing it like George Jones...

Something like...

Now, the race is on and here comes 'que in the home-stretch
Chicken fry, comin' on the inside
Seem okry is a' holdin' back...
It's tryin' not to fallllllllll

Could be toast is out of the runnin'?
As cornbread is a' really comin'
And looks like pecan pie
is clobberin' up the cobbler...."

One day I ventured doing this,
Never once suspectin'
what the last results would beeee.

Sooooo, the race is on
And my pen is now holding back,
Cos I can plainly seeeee
That my attempt at writin' songs
Are out of the runnin'
And why they make fun of meeeeeee!

Yeehaw!

*AHEM* I think maybe I need to stop drinking beer today!

And just for you, atxcio, I'll personally bring (sneak???) the fajita meat, the flour tortillas, the chips, and the salsa to add to the festivities. It's my treat.

I'll just hide them under the bread.

LOL!! This was GREAT! I was actually singing it!!!

All my choices are winning except for cobbler and chips and salsa. Is hot sauce and salsa the same thing?

You are a dear, Cathy, but gotta ask...keep going on drinking beer, or writing songs? LOL

If it comes down to one or the other, on this lazy Sunday afternoon, I am going to go with the former choice! Not for the least of reasons that I CAN (no pun intended) do THAT one competently.

On the other hand, the latter very much depends on the former. In which case (STILL... no pun intended), I admit to totally being only good as in the sense I sing good in the shower! Oh well...

Well, hon, the choice there is what should be the preferred term. But yes, it means the same thing! Just how Texans prefer to label it!

That one went like this, hon:

//www.city-data.com/forum/texas...ink-texas.html

Dr. Pepper in THIS one (the above), was first, with sweet tea second. No others really did all that well.

//www.city-data.com/forum/texas...ff-poll-2.html

Soooo, the first run off was only between the two of them. In this one, sweet tea ran far and ahead! So could be declared the winner!
