Mid-Main, a mixed-use development in Midtown, will break ground in October - Houston Business Journal

Quote:
Mid-Main, a mixed-use development in Midtown, will break ground on Oct. 6, according to the Houston Chronicle.
The development will have 363 apartment units and 29,000 square feet of retail space.
...
Mid-Main will be integrated with the new Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston, or MATCH, development in that it will likely share a 773-space parking garage
a lot more of that "non existent" retail space coming to Midtown in a new TOD, centered around the Ensemble/HCC Rail Station, along with an additional 10,000 sq ft of retail in the base of the office tower they are building across the street. so almost 40k in new retail in one new Midtown development alone. not counting the thousands of sq ft of retail in all the other new midtown developments. nope.. Midtown isnt an urban walkable pedestrian friendly neighborhood..

also, according to this study, Houston is quite a bit more walkable than Dallas.. interesting...

Default Where should I move? Houston or Dallas?

I am a mother with a husband and 2 kids. We currently live in Tennessee, working for VA hospital in Nashville. They are consider relocating me to either Houston or Dallas. My close friends live in Dallas and my cousin lives in The Woodlands. I earn $60,000 a year and I want my kids to attend a great school.

What does your husband earn? Not trying to pry but it's useful info knowing total household income when considering certain parts of town. The Woodlands is exceptional but it has skyrocketed in price over the last 10 years.

Woah.. Someone linked this article on another forum when we were discussing the trinity lakes project..

Dallas: Did we just buy the world's most expensive knockoff bridge

And it sounds like Dallas has a history of building knockoffs..

Really both areas have places that will suit your needs, a lot of it comes down to your budget and personal preferences as others have mentioned, so a little more feedback in that regard would go a long way in helping people suggest. Also, what kind of weather do you prefer, and what family activities do you guys like to participate in?

North Dallas suburbs have great schools: Plano, Frisco, McKinney.

In Houston, The Woodlands and Katy offer good schools.

If you have the time and money, visit each area.

Nonetheless, please tell us more about yourself as we are shooting in the dark.

All of his bridges look similar....
https://www.google.com/search?q=cala...ed=0CAYQ_AUoAQ
They found a bridge that was strikingly similar before they even built our bridge...No big Deal...Texas Tallest was just here bragging about having 3 skyhouse apartment buildings a block from each other...at least our "Twin Bridge" is in another country.
