Well thats you....those 12,000 houses would be bought regardless...I rather have the Co.Hdqtrs. It confirms how important that city is for that company. 300 mansions sold to one company says alot about the demand or preference to live here.

Actually no it normally just means the CEO has a preference not move or the move would be expensive.

That's ridicules Dallas was chosen by Exxon specifically because it wasn't Houston where most of their "important" operations were and are today.

Yep that's Dallas's niche "we're not Houston"! That's a great identity to have...

When people refer to Exxon they reach them in Irving...they never care where the work is being done. Thank god for Houston....Exxon needed a Big Big place to house the worker ants

Are you really that delusional? Exxon has wished to keep its executive services separated from the rest of the its operations for ages.. That's the only reason they chose Irving/Dallas instead of Houston when they moved from NYC. Irving was CLOSE TO HOUSTON. We could argue that the corporate executives didn't chose Dallas proper over Irving because Dallas wasn't good enough for the Big Dogs..

Thanks to a certain poster, yes, it remains silly. Nothing will change in this new year either.

Oh and here's a little math for you since you don't seem to understand...

12,000 people making 100,000 dollars each is 12 billion dollars total. Divide that by the 300 "higher ups" in Irving and you find out that those 300 people would have to make 40 million dollars each in order to have the same impact as the 12,000 Exxon workers in Houston. A quick internet search tells me the CEO of Exxon BARELY makes that. What makes you think the other 299 higher ups are making as much as the CEO? Not to mention 100,000 is probably a pretty conservative guesstimate for the 12,000 Exxon workers in Houston.

In short, ExxonMobils presence in Irving is NOT better than Houstons Exxon presence/work force.
