Hey now. It was just a simple question. No need to get your feathers all ruffled.

Houston is slow compared to Dallas. It takes that city a while to catch up to what Dallas has already done.

Whatever the heck that means? Slow how? I guess Houston's trying to catch up to Dallas's 1 sports stadium in its downtown opposed to its 2 and a third on the way huh?

^^^Both Houston and Dallas have things they are ahead of the other on. Dont start going down a path that is neverending. The stadium one is a bad one though. Just because the downtown Dallas only has one, the area has 3. Either way, it doesnt matter. Both have things they are better at.

Houston slow compared to Dallas? Whoa!!! Its quite the opposite!

Who had the states first & still to this day largest Galleria Mall? Houston

Who had the first retractable roof stadium? None in Dallas. Thank Arlington for that.

Who had the first party scene downtown thanks to revitalization efforts? Again not Dallas.

Who hosted Texas' first 21st Century Super Bowl Championship? Not Dallas, not even in 2010.

Who was a contender in hosting the Summer Olympics? Houston

Who has the states only "authentic" Chinatown/s where even all of the street signs are written in both English & Chinese characters? Houston

Who has the most international airport? Houston is a hub for overseas air travel, especially to the UK & Middle East.

Who has the seaport too? Houston

Who has the largest & most modern network of freeways? Houston

Who is home to more consulates representing just about every nation of the World? Houston

Who has the largest Theater District? Houston is 2nd only to NYC.

Who put man on the moon? Houston

curtbr72: Actually, when I go back to Dallas for a visit it takes a day to get used to how much slower it feels. Are you comparing train systems or overall public transportation? Because you couldn't be comparing parks, museums, performing arts, nature (yes, the Gulf Coast is natural and much cooler than Joe Pool Lake or White Rock for that matter)...? What? Most of what Dallas (proper) has been developing as of late is stuff Houston's had for quite a while. In particular, the international flavor of Dallas (proper) and the Metroplex is just starting to give the area a more diverse feel. It's been like that in Houston for decades.

Slow? Vague and tired...

Dallas and Houston seem to operate around the same speed. I dont really think one is faster than the other overall.

Ever driven on Houston and Dallas freeways? I'd say by that, Houston definitely feels faster. Even just driving through both metro areas. The Fort Worth side especially feels a lot slower, in my opinion.
