Dallaz, downtowns are allowed to grow and expand. If not, we wouldn't even be allowed to call everything inside of that loop downtown. The point of building the park over Woodall is to help merge downtown and uptown into one cohesive unit. I also don't understand how downtown is not pedestrian friendly. And those signs you show marking "Uptown" and "Downtown" don't mean anything. There are signs welcoming you to West End and the Arts District, but those are still inside the loop and what you would consider downtown.

Agreed that the bridge looks really nice. It doesn't seem as large and grandiose as I thought it would in person, at least when driving past downtown, but it's very nice.

Agreed. Hicks stinks. I'm glad he lost the Rangers.

That silly looking bridge to nowhere over that smelly ditch sure is an eyesore. No matter what they try to do in Dallas to help the tacky skyline it just gets worse.

Cable bridges with only one tower are stupid looking. What a train wreck.

Haha

A bit harsh Aquafina, but you do speak some truth.

I agree with those saying the bridge looks nice. With the cables on, it really does look nice. It also looks stupid at the same time though, because when you think about, it's one huge suspension bridge across the prairie (over no significant body of water, even with the TRP). But hey, at least they made it nice to look at.

Aren't they going to try and get some water under it though???

Eventually, but it's going to be more like a nice sized lake than a free-flowing huge body of water.

Tacky is what Houston and Dallas do best.

Dude, to be honest every river in Texas looks like the Trinity.

It's a CABLE STAYED BRIDGE, not a suspention bridge. It's common for a cable stayed bridge to have one tower.
