Guess you've never seen the Neches down near Beaumont. Very wide river & it actually flows.

There is a HUGE speed boat racing event down there every year.

Its also a mixture of fresh & salt water so the fishing is superb.

That's near the mouth of the river. If you go upstream it looks JUST like the Trinity.

Why do people act like the Trinity River is only in Dallas. People say it's a ditch, creek, and many other things. This river is 710 miles long and a lot of Texans get their water from this river. Of course the river isn't gonna be huge because it starts in North Texas. It gets slightly bigger as it nears the Houston Area. There isn't a river in Texas that can be navigable by ships. It only can be navigable by dredging the river.

On the news they showed a man who killed a 14 ft alligador in the Trinity River.

The Colorado river is dammed in the downtown area of Austin. I thought it was a river bur it's a lake. There's another lake just like that in the Austin area. EDIT: it's called Lady Bird Lake.

The further you get out of Beaumont the river shrinks.... the Trinity is also wide down by the coast...
