Technically its a yes & no answer. The Austonian is the tallest resdidential in Texas if you're counting those other floors that aren't residential & the spire on top.
Even if the Austonian isn't fully residential, Museum Tower is taller than the Huntingdon.

Are you really saying that Houston is quirkier than most big cities in the U.S.? Houston is not even the quirkiest city in Texas. Austin says, "Hello." Houston having family establishments near adult only entertainment is not quirky at all. It's downright tacky.

Not that I'm really backing up MM's example because it wasn't the best example. But Houston has that let live vibe that's not as apparent in most other cities. It used to have the "mom and pop" vibe more so in the innercity, now that the innercity is densifying, it's beginning to lose that feel ITL. But it can still be foung outside the loop and inside BW8.

Austin's time is about up.

More than $1.5 billion in projects in the pipeline in Dallas

Quote:
If you’re counting cranes, more of them are perched over construction sites in Dallas’ Uptown neighborhood than anywhere else in North Texas.
Sure, all the buzz about Toyota Motor’s move has got the folks up in Plano excited, but if you want to see an honest to gosh building boom, drive to Uptown.

ARLINGTON - That roar you heard or felt coming from here around 7:30 Saturday night? Earthquake? Tornado? Nope, but close: A force of nature named George Strait had just walked out onto the stage at AT&T Stadium for the final show of his Cowboy Rides Away tour, a two-year, cross-country sweep that he says will be his last.

The 104,793 people in attendance made history - the event marked a new record for largest indoor concert in North America, easily zapping the earlier high mark of around 87,500, set in 1981 by the Rolling Stones at the Louisiana Superdome.

That's impressive....

We will have to see which one comes out on top in 2017.

yeah its ridiculously impressive. the line below it says theyve only invested 5 billion in downtown over the last 14 years..
as for who comes out on top, that all depends on the criteria for whats "best" i guess. but the future is definitely bright for both areas.
