Two of my very favorite songs about Texas:

George Strait - Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jta1Gz9UnfA

Lyle Lovett - This Old Porch

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0iXfnyAZhs

Wow, there's just something about Lyle Lovett's voice and lyrics that makes my heart ache with love for this state. That song captures so much of the feeling of Texas - I could listen to it over and over.

While I can...exactly right, because it's going to start getting HOT--already 81 here, and while not bad, the 90s will soon follow. Alpine doesn't see 100+ as often as Midland and other parts of the state. If it did, I wouldn't be here. I hope I haven't jinxed this coming summer, 'cuz I'm going to be here for most of it, LOL!

That's one of the reasons I got so sick of Midland--it is SO hot there. However.....I left Midland in August 2007, 90 degrees. Got to Alamogordo, NM, the same day--to 102, and wondered what the hell I had gotten myself into! When I tracked temperatures for a year or so, it turns out that they had had a cooler summer than normal for the area.

I may not be able to stand the summers here, so I guess we'll see. I don't expect them to be that different from where I grew up, but it's not as hot as Midland usually is.

Nice - Today and tomorrow spring thunderstorms (which I love) and then by Tuesday the highs are supposed to be in the mid sixties and the lows in the mid 30s - great hot tub weather all this upcoming week, under a big Texas sky full of stars with my sweetie! I better buy a coupla bottles of wine...

Yep, I've been to both Phoenix and Yuma in the summer--BIG mistake, LOL!

So you prefer sauna heat to oven heat.

Well, if I must choose, I'll take oven heat first, but I had just as soon have neither.
