My wife and I let ourselves get roped into a timeshare with Silverleaf Resorts last year but for various reasons have lost interest in it. They have a resort in Galveston and on Lake Conroe and others throughout Texas ans the U.S. However, our financial situation has fluctuated since then, we're tired of the constant marketing calls and their attempts to get us to pimp out our friends to them and 'owner's meetings' where they just try to sell us on more crap we don't want.

We'd kind of just like to get out of it, but wonder if it's better to try to sell it, or somehow default on it and cut our losses. Anyone familiar with Silverleaf? Can anyone give us some recommendations? Thank you!

@upsetwith I haven't been on this forum in years but logged back on and am curious how you manged with Silverleaf. So sorry about your husband's job. We've been sticking it out and it seems like our best bet is to pay off the timeshare and then try to get rid of it.

I was listening to the Dave Ramsey show yesterday and a caller was talking about a way she had found to unload timeshares that you no longer want. He has had a lot of people call with the TS problem and has always said he knew of no really good way to unload them. Unfortunately I wasn't listening that closely so I don't know what the process was, but I remember at the end of the call that Dave was quite impressed and was going to research it further.

You can listen to the show (Feb 6th) on his website if you want to find out the specifics.
