There is no place like Texas. Our budget is balanced, our real estate market is steady, jobs are available, and mostly people know how to act!! I know I've been down about the part of Texas where I live right now, but you know, it never even occurred to myself or my husband to leave this state. We just found a new part of it. I recently went to St. Louis to visit relatives, and the people were so rude!! An invalid lady needed help finding her aide in the hotel where we were staying, and nobody got up to help her! A hotel employee just walked right by ignoring this lady! I got up and helped her find her aide to take her back to her room. She was grateful to not have to struggle up to the front desk by herself, because she really couldn't walk well. Where we live, if a grown man saw an elderly lady in need of help and didn't offer to help her, his mom/wife/sister/whoever would smack him upside the head for being rude! If an employee saw that and didn't offer to help, they would be fired! Drivers were rude, restaurant workers were rude, I was just shocked at how little respect there was for others in and around St. Louis and even through Arkansas. I couldn't wait to get back to Texas where the world made sense, and I told my husband when I returned that from now on all our vacations would be in our own great state. BTW: I know our state board of education needs a little work, but it's all in the voting. I think I'm going to get off here now and take the red dog to go appreciate some Texas by sitting in one of it's many lakes. Hope you all get to Texas soon. Sounds like we'd be happy to have you.

Auto & Senorita...did you make it here, yet? I got through page 4 and just HAD to jump to this last page to see where everyone was at. Seems like it ended in July, 2009...a whole year ago. I know that you both stated you would be hear in 2010...two years later. The time is now. Just wanted and update as to where you are in your lives right now. I've been waiting since 2006. I purchased land at that time and it is just sitting there waiting for me to retire (2.5 yrs) so I can build a house on it. Updates please.
