Splendrnwinter85, Thanks to you and your husband for your commitment to the US military. And to the other posters here who are military or their families. I was a military brat and have an appreciation for your commitment and sacrifice.

I think of you and give thanks each day.

Rancier Drive after dark is pretty much off limits- it gets really seedy down in that area. Drug dealers and prostitutes and the whole mess that goes with that type of lifestyle. A lot of people get into that area by mistake because the rent is so cheap, but the rent is so cheap because the area is so terrible! In Killeen, anything rented for less than $600/mo is not the type of area that most people would feel safe in, but that's my opinion. There is also a lot of crime in this area- lots of homes broken into and vandalized.

Yes, the houses on Post may be small, and some of them are really old, but they are adequate, and more than anything else, they are safe. I love living on post because of the sense of safety I feel. I have no privacy because my nosey neighbors watch everything everyone does, but when my husband was deployed, that was very comforting to know that my house was being watched and nothing was going to happen. We have lived on Post for two years and have not heard of one single incidence of a home robbery or home vandalism. The MP's get to your house in minutes if you need something, and they are constantly patrolling the neighborhoods. On a typical Saturday afternoon and evening, you can expect to see an MP car come through at least five times.

So my vote is live on post!

!
I'm sorry but I don't think that area is scary enough for pizza places not to deliver. I've been around there after dark. Even walked around there alot. That area is not that bad whatsoever.
