San Antonio is EASILY the best choice.

It is the 2nd biggest city in Texas and has a whole lot to offer.

I don't even see how these other areas mentioned can compare to it (Sorry!). It is also affordable and you won't be bored because there is always something new to do.

Do you anything about the job markets? in particular government jobs on post. Also, what about the jobs off post for spouses? my wife is a hairstylist (specializes in african american hair mostly) and we're thinking of opening up a shop. Any information you have would be very much appriciated. thanks.
If you have the option of other areas and don't know it you do, you should definitely consider Huntsville, AL. Fast growing, one of the strongest economies in country, great job market, 2nd largest research park in the country , NASA, technology / engineering / biotech firms abound, great public schools, awesome scenery and recreation opportunities, very nice affordable housing. Did I leave anything out ? Oh yeah friendly, hard-working residents and great climate.
