"San Antonio averages over 300 days of sunshine as well".

ANNUAL % AVG POSSIBLE SUNSHINE

El Paso = 84% or 306 days a year

San Antonio = 60% or 219 days a year

San Antonio gets a lot of cloudy weather off the gulf. I grew up in San Antonio and back then viewed it as a very sunny place. Then I moved to El Paso, and went through a 10 week stretch without seeing a single cloud.

RANKING OF CITIES BASED ON % ANNUAL POSSIBLE SUNSHINE IN DESCENDING
ORDER FROM MOST TO LEAST AVERAGE POSSIBLE SUNSHINE: from noaa

[If race is an issue for you, which I hope it is not, then Texas is not the place. In every major city, the Hispanic ethneticity is the majority race.

true ,but in some places more than others

In San Antonio and south of it :Laredo,McAllen,El Paso this would apply

bit in Houston and Dallas to an extend there are still plenty of anglos, blacks and others

alos while San Antonio and to the south is predomintly mexican(here I am including all persons of mexican ancestry 1st,2nd,3rd generation)

In Houston and Dallas even though mexicans are the majority of hispanic the hispanic population gets more diverseuertorican,Cuban,Salvadoran Honduran,Nicarguan,Peruvian ,Colombian Venezuelan and so on..

and in the coming years will grow as people(including large numbers of Hispanics) move out of California,New York,Florida, etc into Texas.

Texas has many advantages apart from being cheaper than many other states, has a lot of land ,milder climate and a great central location within the sunbelt. Not to forget great universities ,great medical facilities like those in Houston and so on..
