Hey, you don't need to go to college to learn grammar. If you don't know it by high school or sooner, you'll never know it. This is frightful, and she's 35 years old.

You're right on the money there, CC....

I didn't realize just how truly pathetic it really was until I started using the Internet on a regular basis.

Too true!!! One of my biggest pet peeves... One really sees how bad grammar knowledge is just by surfing the internet and reading emails! "there" and "their" are not interchangeable! LoL

mysterymachinebl: You said it! There is a business about a mile from my house with "COMERCIAL PRINTING" proudly displayed on the front. What is wrong with this picture? They of all people should know better. They won't get any printing jobs from me!

Either is your and you're. I can understand errors, but some people honestly don't know the difference. The person who wrote the article about Texans staying put was a really poor writer and I wouldn't doubt he is college "educated." Of course, the content was good though.

I work with the college educated every day and I can confirm my grammar, writing, and "smarts" are better than most. I never spent a day in college. After I finished high school, my dad said to me, "No, you're not going to college. You're smart already. You need to get a job." I listened.

The occasional error is nothing to fuss about, but the craigslist writing I posted is absolutely pathetic and too scary for me.

I love the state of texas, no state like us, the only state in the u.s. that can become its own country at anytime. I lived in a few places and texas, of like every other state we have problem areas especially in these litttle towns that still think its 1950 but you gotta love em tho. You really don't have to leave the state for anything unless you want a change of climate. You have the nations 4th biggest city (houston) in the state, which is hands down the most diverse city and best city in the state. So why leave texas?
