Blue Bell Chocolate Overload - it's chocolaty. My favorite seasonal is Keylime Pie.

We in Austin have Amy's Ice Cream and they have this chocolate chip/mexican vanilla/oreo's concoction called "dirt." On a cone or in a cup, it makes me very happy.

I do agree with Lonestar2007 that Braum's has good ice cream. I went to college in Oklahoma and a Braum's cheeseburger and their chocolate chip ice cream was a weekend staple while studying engineering.

Blue Bunny Ice Cream - not so good.

I've never tried Amy's, but on some previous trips to Austin, I've passed by a few times just to see the servers "toss" the ice cream in the air. That's part of their legend, from what I've read.

Blue Bell pineapple sherbet, pistachio almond, and, of course, assorted Amy's flavors.

I do like Amy's, and after eating great tacos at Gurerro's on S. Congress the walk across the street to Amy's is nice, but I think that's just because I like ice cream. I don't think it's any better than Marble Slab, or Cold Stone....same stuff.

Blue Bell has amazing ice cream. Everything else tastes fake in comparison.

Anything from Amy's ice cream!

Blue Bell french vanilla and almond pistachio.

Ben and Jerry's makes some really good ice cream, too.

Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla in a bowl (I am clumsy and always seem to make a mess if I have ice cream in a cone) - usually plain with no toppings, but I recently tried Hershey's Bar in a Jar sauce and that is quite nice on top of the Homemade Vanilla as well.

I also like Blue Bell Strawberries and Homemade Vanilla... and sometimes the Banana Pudding.

Ben and Jerry's Creme Brulee is lovely, too. It has lots of the carmelized sugar bits in it.

Call me old school, but I don't think there is anything better than a good vanilla ice cream. Braum's & Blue Bell are both fine. I also like lime and orange sherbets.

My two longtime favorites are cookies and cream and strawberry. And my first exposure to ice cream was the old Polar Bear chain way back....well, as a kid , but of course, that's long gone. Now, I just go to Baskin-Robbins or Marble Slab to get my fix.

I like Blue Bell the best and my favorite flavor is tin roof. When we lived in Denver, we were sad cause they don't sell it in Colorado, so a fellow ex-Texan coworker said try Blue Bunny instead. I did, and liked it o.k but then found Maggie Moo's. So, now, Maggie Moo's is my next favorite. But, living near Austin I think I need to have some Amy's for comparison. There's a place in Georgetown that sells it. Guess I'll give it a try. I also like Vanilla Bean (for root beer floats) and chocolate sundae.
