They are big on 42. They also have music night once a month where a band comes in and plays. They also go to some of the surrounding towns on different nights to other bands play Country, bluegrass and Gospel. Oh the weather is nice. Today it is to be in the seventies. There is very little humidity if any. There has not been any snow this year. The most I have seen in five years is 8 inches and that lasted for two days. I promise you will not regret it. My sister Melinda lived in Wellington and did not care for it. I don't remember why. Have a good day Cindy

With the criteria you have listed, I would suggest the El Paso area of west Texas. Maybe even Anthony, Tx./N.M. split down the middle. The weather here should be to your liking as there are few days over 100 and few under 30. Seven to nine inches of rain per year, with humidity between 17 and 30 per cent average. The 600 a month rent for 3 bedrooms is do-able if you don't care what area of the County you live in, and Texas has no personal income tax, unlike New Mexico. I went to H.S. in Wellington and believe me, it's great for hunting and raising livestock but not much else. Wellington is also in Collingsworth County where it is a dry county. No booze of any kind for sale. You have to drive to Oklahoma to even get a bottle of wine for dinner.

Jal is in the SE corner of NM, very near Texas. Flatness and oil!

My favorite part of TX is the Fort Davis/Alpine/Marfa area as far as climate is concerned. Beautiful mountainous scenery and low humidity.

Be sure to not over look Colorado Springs, Colorado.

It's affordable, extremely beautiful with 4 mild seasons and more work there in just about every industry should any one in you family need one.

I moved from the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina hit us, and it was the best thing I ever did.

I love it there, and I know you will too.

I wish you well.

Jim
