Speak for yourself. President Obama actually won Bexar County. By a fairly wide margin I might add. And as far as Northeasterners, they're generally affable folks. And I personally find most Texans to be very friendly and tolerant. So I'm afraid that you and those with your type of thinking are in the severe minority here. Thank goodness for that. Fortunately there are plenty more decent people in Texas to offset the idiots. loved the headline in yesterday's FTW paper--there was Rick Perry looking for federal money for the victims of the wild fires in Weatherford--where is that money coming from when/if Texas succeeds--
he and all these other posers are so two-faced...they want the help but not the responsibility...typical Republicans...

As I mentioned in the earlier post, I am neither Republican nor Democrat. Just conservative! In fact, again as said earlier, the national Republican Party deserved its defeat last time around.

But with that said? The money you speak of does not belong to Washington nor the federal government. It belongs to the taxpayers first, and to the soveriegn states next. The only business the feds have with it is to carry on the functions specifically spelled out in the Constitution.
And there are very few of those. Otherwise, keep it at home to begin with.

Texas and Texans shouldn't have to come hat in hand to ask for our own money back from Washington, anyway. Nor should any other of our sister states. Keep the TEA party brewing and the Declaration of Soverienty going. Demanding nothing more than anything that isn't rightfully ours anyway!

You can't even spell secession right and you want to down grade a native born Texan. I am a constitutionalist and I took an oath to protect the U.S. Constitution & the Declaration of Independence in its entirety along with the Texas Constitution. You people may not know this but there are other states besides Texas who wish to secede if things get worse in this Obamanation. TexasReb is right about the money it does belong to the people not the power hungry politicians in Washington. If Texas seceded that tax money that has been getting thrown away in Washington D.C. would stay in Texas.

A 5.5% margin is big? Bill Clinton won Bexar County both times. Who cares? I believe it isn't much to worry about as long as ultra liberal morons don't come to power in Texas.

It seems that the Socialist seem to always go back to Bush. The Obamanation has pissed off more people in 3 months than Bush did in all the years he was in office. Stop harping over the past and look at the present and what could happen in the future. If you are looking for someone to blame look at yourself ya'll voted for Barrack Hussein Obama, the smarter ones seen this coming. I was voting for Sarah Palin , the one with guts to speak the truth and not lie like Barrack Hussein Obama has been doing. He can't even make up his mind whether he is for guns or against them so he lies out both sides of his mouth. I think the Native Americans call it a forked tongue.

OUR OWN MONEY--if you think that the money he gets from Fed for disaster relief will equal the money TX has paid--get real...TX has gotten way more from the Fed than it has paid to the Fed--consider the money that comes into TX from federal facilities like Fort Hood, and the other military bases....from NASA in Clear Lake, from ALL the disaster relief that has come to us since say 1950 even...

there is just so much racism lying under all the cloaked remarks about fiscal conservative...
I saw the posters people were holding of Obama that had exaggerated his facial characteristics to shade him more monkey than man...
if you want to talk about honesty, then talk about that for a change...
most of these people cannot get their limbic brains around the idea that a black man, a Harvard graduate and attorney, has become President in a NATIONAL election...

No we haven't. We pay more than we get back.

And where would THAT money come from? Is the greenback going to be the official currency of Texas? Maybe we could befriend our neighbors south of the Rio Grande and adopt the Peso.

And what about the hundreds of millions (or even billions) of <insert official currency of Texas here> it'll cost to build border checkpoints at every border crossing?

How about all the tarrifs that will inevitably be applied to every company headquarted in Texas?

Let's put the secession question to bed. It's tired and needs a very long nap.
