OK, this is tiring...here is another article stating that Texas is getting so many retirees moving there. Well, if they're moving there, where the heck are they moving to?
There is not an overwhelming majority of over 65 y.o. people in any city of any size in Texas. So, how can this be that Texas is drawing sooooo many retirees? They must be hiding from the Census Bureau then.
Anyone???

Just about everywhere depending on their tastes, but I've seen an influx lloking at some of the smaller Hill Country areas.

Tyler, you would have a hard time finding anyplace that had a MAJORITY of OVER 65 population, maybe a town of about 1,000 or maybe some restrictive "sunset" communnity in central Texas. No city of say, 100,000 would have 60,000 people over 65!

There are a bunch of them around me in San Antonio. The retired veterans tend to move to cities with VA medical facilities. You could find them in every TX city that has one of those.

They are all OVER the state. The State of Texas us HUGE and they end up in various locations all over the state depending on a wide range of factors:
1. Nearby Family
2. Previously lived in a certain area and like it
3. Current medical needs so they pick one of the larger cities
4. Want to live out in "the country" or a smaller town and Texas has a LOT of those areas to pick from.
5. Moved to their "second home" they have had for several years

There is just not one spot or even FIVE that someone can say, "this is where they are all moving to".

My dad is currently retired (semi) and he lives in Tyler. When my Great Uncle and my Memaw were still alive they lived in Kerrville. My uncle lived there since before retirement and my Memaw moved there to help him when he became ill. His entire street was filled with retirees. I know others who live in Lake Jackson, Blanco, El Campo, Sinton, Corpus Christi and even out here near where I live in Hutto (some here too)...like Granger, Taylor, Bastrop, Elgin, McDade, Brenham, Houston (Katy and Clear Lake..South Shore Harbour specifically. It's close to League City and Seabrook).

I believe the largest locations of retirees are in East Texas (I read this somewhere) and Central Texas (Hill Country).
