The time I lived in Austin was marked by sadness when I discovered most of the people I met were originally from California. They moved there because it was cool, but changed it as soon as they could.

Now, the music stops at midnight. There's no such thing as a dirty, smoky bar. Austin is a shell of its former self. And it's happening in Houston, Dallas and San Antonio too. The alien hordes are turning our once great state into something other than what it is meant to be.

RIP Texas.

FWIW, the music stopped pretty much at midnight when I first moved to Austin 40 years ago. It was only later that the bands began STARTING at 10:00 (oddly enough, about the time that most of us who had supported them had kids and jobs and couldn't stay up until 2:00 on a weeknight - or most any night - any longer). It was a change that was decried by many.

Dirty, smoky bars, though, yep, we had 'em! That's a loss that can be attributed to "let's move in and make this place over into where we came from".

Worst place, huh?

That must be why Texas already has 20+ million and is growing by leaps and bounds.

Go away and find something more productive to do with your time. Few Texans (especially the natives) care what outsiders think of their state.

TEXAS IS THE WORST STATE. We need this to be our bumper sticker so people can stop moving here!!!

In the vein of "Keep Austin Weird" bumper sticker, I say we adopt a Texas bumper sticker that says "Texas is the worst state, stop moving here!!"

It's all an attempt to minimize the massive influx of people. Let 'em keep posting that garbage, maybe the flood will go down to a trickle!

I've lived in Texas for 20 years, and I can't speak for the whole state, but the Fort Worth area is one fine place to live.

It's awesome here. The only problem is the illegals.

Yeah, I agree with Ladihawk and txsizzler. It's nice here. I can't wait for everyone who doesn't like it to just leave.

I don't measure how great a place is by the individual decisions other people make, which is what most of these statistics reflect.

I measure how great a place is by the individual freedoms that are supported and encouraged. In some ways, Texas is great, other ways, it's okay. A strong support of gun rights and the lack of income tax are both very valuable and rare in these United States.

Or maybe for all those who hate humidity a bumper sticker that says...

'Keep Abilene Dry'

...and send all the transplant wannabe's in that direction. Would have a necessary 'Impact'
