It's bad. We haven't had a significant rain here in DFW in around a month or two. I'm sure Austin and Waco are feeling it far worse than us.

Houston has had .25 and .1 here and there barely keeping the dormant grass alive, but nothing real significant since Ike. Getting pretty bad. I expect water rationing in the worst hit areas before too long.

Keep praying, gang! Our TV weather dude here in Abilene said there is a possibility of rain this weekend. They're watching a Pacific front with rain forming and it could track to us. At least there's a chance!

Maybe Mother Nature can prove the almanac wrong. At least, that's what I'm hoping. Let that Pacific front come marching through. I looked at Farmer's Almanac the other day, and it says that we will have a wetter than usual September, but a warmer than usual May and June.

We best get some rain now.

Let's hope we have plentiful spring rains because right now it looks like a long hot summer on the way.

There may be some relief coming up this weekend, but it looks like the focus of the storms willprobably be N and NE texas.

Having just bought an old South High Plains farm I have a mountainous pile of tumbleweeds and tree limbs after clearing the badly neglected five acres around the house and barns. I sorely need to burn but will wait until we get some moisture. The pile will probably be blown into the next county or State by the time I can burn.
