I hate the NBA. I think it's stupid the playoffs last 3 months and about half the teams make the playoffs.

Plus, the game itself kinda sucks to begin with.

This thread is three years old, and I can't tell why it was brought up.

I don't know about the rest of Texas, but San Antonians pay a lot of attention to the NBA because of the Spurs. I even see a good number of Spurs fans in Austin.

I played basketball. It's my favorite sport. I never cared about football. I have Spurs gear, but no Cowboys gear. I only have a Longhorns hat because I needed one, and that one was on sale. Not even living in Austin has made me care about college football, but I still cheer for the Spurs even though I moved away from San Antonio.

I can't tell you how many times I've said this here...

I have a respect for ALL sports. I live in Ft. Worth but have been a Cowboys, Spurs, Stars, and Rangers fan for as long as I've lived.

And I really don't like when people say "most Texans do/don't..."

You don't speak for me and you don't speak for the other 25+ million people who live here.

I love the NBA - favorite sport and favorite pro sports league. Been a Rockets fan since 91. I love how long the season is as well - you get about 8 months out of an NBA season as compared to about 5 for football and 6 for baseball.

Texans in general tend to have a preference for football though. But in San Antonio, Houston and DFW there's a pretty consistent basketball following in each imo.
