There is no Lone Star County. There is the very small town of Lone Star in Morris County, on Highway 259 between Ore City & Daingerfield. Is in the Daingerfield-Lone Star Independent School District.

Lone Star Steel is the main thing in town. They just agreed to be sold to U.S. Steel.

The closest major city in Texas to Lone Star is Dallas. It is about a two and half hour drive from Dallas, possibly three depending on what area of Dallas.

Northeast Texas.

If you can find this website, surely you can google Lone Star, TX or search for it on an online map service.

Lone Star is about 35 miles north of Longview (70,000+ population), 75 miles southwest of Texarkana (64,000+), 25 miles southeast of Mt. Pleasant (~14,000), and about 30 miles northwest of Jefferson (about 2000).

Sits on Lone Star Lake, close to Lake of The Pines, and close enough to several cities of various sizes. Daingerfield and Atlanta State Parks are nearby, antiques and Bed & Breakfasts in Jefferson, David Beard's Catfish Village in nearby Ore City, and just a short trip to Longview for all your shopping and/or restaurant needs.
