I am considering establishing a retail /wholesale operation (household goods ) in Killeen. The business would be in Priest St. South of Veteran Memorial Blvd. between Trimer Road and S.Ft.Hood St. Any advise on safety of the area this days (May 2009). Tks for your help.

you should be as safe as anywhere else. any business will do well in the area-it is home of the largest military installation in the country, and therefore somewhat immune to the economic problems in the rest of the country. our active duty members get a steady income, large retention bonuses, large recruitment bonuses, and with BAH (housing allowance) or free post housing, plenty of expendable personal income. you will do FINE. Good luck

Luby's doesn't exist anymore?? Since when?

We had one of three Luby's close down here in Corpus Christi, but the other 2 are still open. As far as I know, when I left Wichita Falls, TX in March, their Luby's on 10th St. was still open as well. So, please elaborate...

Ian
