The whole big bend area is so cool. I stayed in terligua for a few nights. The coolest part is when you step outside after dark and its like walking in to a closet. Its that dark out there. Even darker than fort davis.

These pics are outstanding. I love the rain pic and the one from Giant in Marfa. I remember watching that movie. Gosh, you're making me homesick for Tx. I need to get back already.

And the sunset and mountain range pics are also great. The real Big Sky country is really West Texas and not "some other place". That's reason enough for anyone to come back.

I remember that scene! No offense, but a photo just can't do justice to the huge scale of the thing. I found that out myself; when I got home and looked at my efforts (back in the 35mm film days), it all looked so small!

So I don't know exactly what this is, but it is some sort of flowering Cactus or Cactus like plant.
