Hello. My husband's company is transfering him to Hutchins, TX. We are currently in Kansas City. We have 3 kids ranging from 7 - 13. What do you recommend in the way of schools? What neighborhoods are kid freindly? A commute for my husband is not a problem. He currently drives 30 minutes to work. Thank-you.

Hutchins - just south of Dallas - is a horrible place to live. It's school district was so bad, the education agency shut it down and turned its kids over to Dallas public schools. It was called the Wilmer-Hutchins school district. Another nearby district Lancaster is a crummy district as well. You'll want to look at Forney or Sunnyvale maybe. Generally the upper half of Dallas is considered "better" for schools than the lower half, which is where Hutchins is located.

Does your husband's job require him to ive in Hutchins proper? If not, you might want to look at one of the towns around there....Desoto, RedOak, Ovilla....are all nice towns with good school districts.
