Ok y'all...

Taking bets, now. Any predictions on the game? Texas is out for blood from last year and defending their No. 2 ranking...but Tech ain't no slouch, and they are gonna be fired up too (no pun intended).

Texas by 7

Neither team has really been tested in their early games, but the Longhorns have the more proven QB. I predict Texas wins this home game by 4 touchdowns.

My brain says UT, my heart wants TT. Our son in law is a Tech alum and I am one of those who absulutely hates UT or as my friend called it (a big Texas fan) TU; the university!!!! If I was laying down money I would take Texas by 71/2 but I am not, so I will route for TT.

I'm with you nmnita. Being a Lubbockite, my heart wants TT to win, but I just don't think it will happen. Then again, that's what I said last week when Lubbock High (unofficially the worst 5A football program in the state) beat Midland Lee (ranked #2 in the state). I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If TT beats them today, UT fans can no longer deny the rivalry.

THAT is what scares me. Nobody thought it would happen LAST year, either!

False.

A rivalry takes more than two years to develop. In a historical context, TTech's football program is a joke. Texas and OU, TAMU, and Arkansas all have over 100 years of rivalrly between successful programs to base our rivalries on.

Tech can not just claim two games make them a rival team. If that were the case, Wyoming and Central Florida would be Texas' rivals too.

I think a rivalry can develop in two years if one team takes another out of the running for the national championship two years in a row, don't you think so? (That's if Tech wins tonight.)

Texas Tech will get smashed in the mouth....hard.

And lol at this rivalry. There is no rivalry. Texas Tech had that one game against Texas last year. It's over with after the game tonight.
