We are thinking of relocating from California to TX. My husband might have a job in Kerrville. My kids (1st grader & 4th grader) currently are attending a large family oriented Christian school in CA but I can't seem to find anything comparable in Kerrville, although Boerne seems to have some options. Does anyone have experience with the Christian schools in this area? What is the commute from Boerne to Kerrville? What about the public schools? I am not a fan of CA schools and wonder if maybe the Texas schools would be better. We are excited about this possibility but my heart hurts at the thought of taking them away from their amazing school and friends. Any thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Boerne to Kerrville is about 45 mins give or take 5 mins maybe. If you ended up living in Boerne you have a easy traffic filled drive to SA for more school options. I have heard that Boerne schools are pretty good. The only private school that I know off is a Catholic school

Starkey and Tally are both excellent public elementary schools, and Kerrville has a large Christian community. It's worth considering if you have a good job.

There are two or three very small Christian schools, but I'm afraid we haven't been here long enough to know anything about them.

Hi. My family just moved to Boerne from Southern California. We love it here. I have two girls (7 yrs and 9 yrs). The schools are excellent.

I just learned about the Summit Christian Academy which is a wonderful two day a week school here in Boerne. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday and then you follow the workbook assignments on your own the other days. Tuition is about $250 per month. I think we're going to try it for the next school year.

Boerne is very close to San Antonio and in the other direction is Kerrville. I think Boerne is a little nicer, personally speaking. It's a small little town, very charming yet still a little sophisticated.
