It's not like Downtown Houston is a slouch...

I'd much rather prefer Uptown Houston and Memorial City to be located Downtown also, but they aren't. Also, it's not like those cities you named don't have other skylines scattered around the metro.

No, it was third tallest and then we took it back when we built more towers.

They do. But guess what, most of those cities skyscrapers are concentrated in one area. In Chicago, you have the areas around Oak Brook,Evanston, and Rosemont. But those areas combined doesn't even equal a fifth in what's in downtown Chicago. Same could not be said for Houston.

Some people like to see skylines & skyscrapers scattered all over a city in the most random of places. I'm one of them.

Houston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, & Dallas all have multiple skylines in their city limits. Houston differentiates by having no zoning which takes it to the extreme much like in some of the larger Asian cities.

One Park Place, Discovery Tower, MainPlace, and Houston Pavilions. Miami wasn't ahead of us by much at all. I believe it was only a few stories.

The difference is most of Miami's new towers are vacant while Houston's are full. Last I heard they could hardly give all those swanky high rise condos away.

You're so right! Let's just put up empty buildings everywhere. And Houston and Dallas' nightlife are about the same.
