Houston wins!

Whoa

Texas Medical Center has gotten even bigger. Alot of those previous pics don't show it!

any idea of the feasibility of the south canal? it looks like it runs through some existing development.

Is this REALLY going to happen?

here is a timeline for the currently funded portions. these are the cheaper quick fixes to bring improvements to the park in a short time frame. the bigger Memorial Park-Port of Houston "master plan" is long term, though the North Canal apparently made it in the budget this year so that part of the plan should be starting in the near future.
Buffalo Bayou Park | Timeline

according to the original master plan redevelopment, they hoped to have all of the renovations to the park completed by 2022, but its expensive to add park space and renovate 2,500 acres, and unfortunately completing the master plan doesnt seem that high on Houstons priority list for the forseable future. Houston has plenty of other things to spend money on. the South Canal would be expensive..
