Sure, Houston has a bigger/taller skyline than Dallas does, but Houston's skyline is just so generic compared to Dallas's. I think if you showed most people outside of Texas a picture of both skylines, most people would recognize Dallas's skyline but wouldn't be able to tell you what city Houston's skyline is from. Bigger is not always better. If it was, then Houston would be better than NY and LA, which is clearly not the case.

And they're both generic.

..No...Its more like the big brother never owning up to losing to little brother because he's big brother.

What is this Fort Worth metro you speak of? Last time I checked, it was Fort Worth-Dallas or Dallas-Fort Worth, whichever you prefer. Dallas and Fort Worth's history and location are to intertwined with each other to be counted as separate metros.

Lol, that's because the Houston metro has to get its crutch the Galveston metro to compete with the DFW metro. Don't fool yourself, Houston has to sweep and mop up everything, including most of southeast Texas to practically The Woodlands and even Conroe to try to compete with DFW. Well, that was easy.

I don't agree with Ray, but what other cities are in DFW other than Fort Worth? Like Houston's suburbs, our suburbs grew because of Dallas. The only difference is that Houston has more room to have suburban growth in its city limits.

Also, this is a huge generalization, which I don't like but, how come Houston poster(some) are so quick to bring down Dallas because we use our suburbs but are so quick to bring up their suburbs? I know, it's not everybody, but still, it's getting on my nerves.

I was mostly just goofing on Houstonians who like to fantasize that Dallas and Fort Worth wouldn't exist if they didn't have each other or suburbs. Also the pretend idea that Dallasites care about some sparsely populated rural counties on the Oklahoma border just because the US government includes them in DFW traffic patterns.

But I'll remember Truth's incredulous response next time a Houston poster brags about its beaches in Galveston or whatever company is relocating to The Woodlands. Because apparently Dallas people are crazy if they enjoy the benefits of their metro outside of the city limits. Apparently you need a passport to leave your municipality in Dallas County.

If Houston is generic, then Dallas must be generic too. If you showed people a picture of most sunbelt metros, chances are they won't recognize any of them or will recognize one from a certain memory they have.
